The limited series follows the story of Australian influencer Belle Gibson who lies about having cancer.

Netflix confirmed it isn't a biopic but is a work of fiction based on a "true-ish story based on a lie."

I'd never heard of the story of Belle Gibson before tuning into the series and couldn't wrap my head around it.

I flew through the six episodes in one sitting because I was completely gripped by the story unfolding on screen.

Apple Cider Vinegar is an enthralling but uncomfortable watch because it highlights how far people will go for fame.

The series also highlights how damaging social media can be and the harmful pedestals we put influencers on.

What really stuck with me was how everyone believed her and followed her advice with some even ignoring their doctors.

Not only did Belle Gibson lie about having multiple cancers, but she also lied to people about 'curing' it with a healthy lifestyle.

A lie far too many people believed.
