As a self-confessed Coronation Street fan who hasn’t watched a full episode of the show since 2004, I have a lot of feelings about David Platt.
I was there when he was kidnapped by Richard Hillman and driven into a lake.
I was there when he decided that him and Jason Grimshaw were going to be enemies until the end of time.
And then I stopped watching because Coronation Street is on at an awkward time and I have a lot of things to do, OK?
Still though, David Platt is class so that means by association, Jack P Shepherd – your man who plays him – is class as well.
Basically, he’s great and he deserves to be treated with respect… and also given five grand in some random lad’s will because why not?
Over on Instagram Stories, Jack was – like everyone in the world – doing an Ask Me Anything.
When someone asked the actor what the nicest thing anyone had ever done for him was, he said some lad left him five grand in his will.
Yeah, legit five grand.
He said: “Gave me five grand in their will. From New Zealand, a fan. Died and gave me ten percent of his estate which was five grand so cheers.”
Cheers, indeed.
This comes after the actor was found passed out in a lift following one of England’s World Cup match wins.
He said that he was texting his mate about it “coming home.”
