This should be interesting.
While a lot of the leading Harry Potter stars have gone on to have hugely successful Hollywood careers, such as Emma Watson, Daniel Radcliff and Tom Felton, some others have remained in acting but haven’t gone into major roles.
One of those people is Rupert Grint, who played Harry’s best friend Ron. Since leaving the popular franchise he’s appeared in short films, TV shows and also on Broadway in a play.
But now he’s just landed a fairly large TV role which will see him in the TV version of the movie Snatch. The new show, which will have ten episodes in its first series, will be called Crackle.
It’s due to start filming in Manchester soon and will be based on the original movie which centred around a group of men who stumble upon a truckload of stolen gold bullion and eventually find themselves caught up in the world of organised crime.
According to The BBC, Crackle will “carry the spirit of the setting in the original feature film, while creating a new world.”
Rupert will play Charlie Cavendish who has been described as “frustratingly chaotic”. He will star alongside Dougray Scott and Gossip Girl‘s Ed Westwick.
It’s due to be on TV sometime in 2017.
