The Devil Wears Prada 2 has its cast revealed
Knowing a sequel to The Devil Wears Prada is in the works makes us so incredibly happy.
The Meryl Streep classic has been a comfort movie of ours ever since it was released in 2006.
Reuniting with Andy and the team at Runway magazine is something we can’t wait for, and viewers will be pleased to see some familiar faces returning.
The latest update comes as the cast of the sequel has finally been confirmed, and gird your loins, cause it’s good.
Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci are all confirmed to be returning for the sequel.
Kenneth Branagh has also been added to the slate and is due to play Miranda Priestley’s husband.
The Devil Wears Prada sequel is due to land on May 1st, 2026.
Stanley Tucci previously opened up about wanting to work on a sequel.
He previously told E! News: “Listen, it was a great experience, right?” he explained. “My hope is, if it happens—obviously we’d have to work out all the logistics—but it’d be a fun thing for everybody.”
In an interview with The View, Anne Hathaway also said she’d love to see what Andy was up to today.
She did admit that the film would be incredibly different nowadays, given the downfall of print media.
She told the publication:
“I just think that movie was in a different era. Now, everything has gone so digital, and that movie centred around the concept of producing a physical thing, and it’s just very different now.”
The Devil Wears Prada author Lauren Weisberger has even written a sequel to the original novel.
She penned Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns in 2016 so the material is there for a second movie.
