Elba first teased the possibility of a Luther film a few years back. When chatting to LADBible he said: "For me it would be nice to take Luther up a scale. Make the storyline bigger, make it slightly more international."
Luther launched onto the BBC back in 2010, quickly amassing a considerable following of people who enjoy a thriller, enjoy a psychological thriller, and enjoy a psychological thriller starring an actor such as Idris Elba.
The series' fourth (and last, so far) season premiered last January, and since then, we've had little to no information as to when we're getting more Luther goodness on our screens.
And in fairness, we still don't really have all that much information as to when it'll be on our cinema screens either. The only thing we know for certain is that it will be at some point - and that Idris is up for it.
