Everything we know about the 2023 Big Brother reboot so far

Aisling Keenan

Big Brother is coming back and we can hardly contain ourselves.

And guess what – reports are saying the LIVE FEED is returning. According to a piece in the Daily Mail, we can expect the live feed’s triumphant return. Hello 3am check-ins with the house, amirite?!

While the show was axed in 2018 after a staggering 1,481 episodes across 19 seasons (not including Celeb BB), it’s back and hopefully it’ll be better than ever.

But what else do we know so far?

Hosts

AJ Odudu and Will Best were announced as the new hosts at the end of April. While we’ll absolutely miss Davina McCall, we know Strictly Come Dancing star AJ and former T4 presenter Will will do a super job.

A source told MailOnline: ‘They have genuine real chemistry and it was an absolute no brainer when they screen tested.’ Will explained: ‘I grew up with Big Brother so getting a chance to host it with my mate AJ is a dream come true. I can’t wait to tell some housemates not to swear.’

New logo and start date

The new version of the iconic eye logo has been unveiled (below) showing us that once again, Big Brother is always watching.

A start date is yet to be confirmed but the show is due to air on ITV2 and ITVX this autumn. ITV’s Director of Television Kevin Lygo previously said the start date would be ‘probably September, October time’. The main show will air 9-10pm Sundays to Fridays on ITV2 and ITVX followed by its companion programme.

Live feed and new contestants

Yes, the live feed is returning, meaning we can keep an eye on the goings on even after show hours – something that we feel was lacking in the latter seasons before it was cut from Channel 5.

Sources are saying the programme might have a similar feel to its earlier Channel 4 days when the house was populated with a mix of completely average people.

A source told The Sun that the producers have said a very solid no to “Love Island-type contestants or fame-hungry influencers” for the new series. Casting for the upcoming series is said to be almost complete with the candidates having face-to-face meetings with producers at this stage. We are excited to get completely obsessed with a bunch of totally random people for the next few months, are you?
