Emmerdale's serial killer Lachlan White was finally arrested tonight - but it looks like he may be set to cause more havoc in the village.

The murderous teen, played by Thomas Atkinson, has been killing villagers - including his mum, grandad and best friend - in an effort to ensure his freedom. But it all came to a head tonight when the police finally arrested him. The teen had been on the run for most of the the dramatic double-bill but gave up hope of escape when he saw Belle Dingle lying lifeless on the roadside. Armed officers stormed the scene, with their guns trained on Lachlan, as he stroked Belle's hair. He was taken away in a police car before being marched into a cell - before a twist in the final moments of the episode. The killer tried to make a deal with the police, demanding to know whether or not Belle was still alive. And when he wasn't given a straight answer, he got desperate - and appeared to have revealed Rebecca White's fate. He told the confused detective that "you'll never find her, not unless you give me what I want." When the cops pressed him on who the 'her' was, Lachlan added:

“Oh really, you’ve not figured it out, she’s blonde and she’s not in Wales.”

And while the detective was stunned that Lachlan was trying to negotiate a deal for Rebecca's safety, Lachlan only had a few more menacing words to say. He coldly told him:

“Belle for Rebecca. You take it or leave it.”
