It feels like just about every Disney classic has gotten the remake treatment lately.
From
Beauty and the Beast to
Cinderella; the
Jungle Book to
Christopher Robin, many of Disney's most beloved characters have gotten a big revamp on their return to the big screen
And the remakes are showing no signs of slowing down, with remakes of
The Lion King; Aladdin; Dumbo; Lady and the Tramp; and
Mulan all on the cards.
The latest animated classic to get the live-action treatment is none other than
The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
Deadline report that
Frozen and
Beauty and the Beast star Josh Gad is said to be eyeing up the main role - although no casting has been set yet.

He ha also already secured producing duties on the movie.
Tony Award winner David Henry Hwang will write the live-action tale of Quasimodo, Captain Phoebus and Esmerelda - and the film will pull from the 1996 animated classic, as well as Victor Hugo's 1831 novel.
Stephen Schwartz and Alan Menken will create the music for the film. Mencken has previously worked on a number of beloved Disney films, including
Aladdin,
Beauty and the Beast,
The Little Mermaid as well as
The Hunchback of Notre Dame.
