Strictly’s Dianne Buswell shares real reason she was in tears on show with Bobby Brazier

“I thought I would be very upfront and honest with you all”

Strictly star Dianne Buswell, 34, has shared why she and her dance partner, Bobby Brazier, 20, last week, had a particularly ’emotional’ week.

After the pair performed the Tango to David Bowie’s hit ‘Fashion’ on Saturday October 14th, Dianne became tearful, with many viewers speculating about her relationship with Joe Sugg, who she fell in love with after they were paired together in 2018.

However, the professional Australian dancer has now revealed the real reason as to why she became emotional on air is to do with a beloved family member.

To shut down rumours of relationship problems between her and Joe, she shared a wholesome snap of her boyfriend cooking a Sunday roast.

“These are the best roast potatoes I’ve ever eaten in my life, Joe you are the best roaster of the potato the world’s ever seen, I love you so much more than I even did before!” she reassured fans.

Clearing up the false narrative around her emotional reaction on the show, Dianne took to her YouTube channel to explain that her father’s health had taken a turn.

“I thought I would be very upfront and honest with you all. Last week I got some news about my dad’s health and I won’t go into detail, but obviously that affected me.

“Being away from home and not being able to support and help your family in a time of need is quite a difficult thing so I did struggle a little bit last week in terms of that,” she confessed.

Her father’s health means that she will not be hosting her family in the UK for the Christmas holidays, instead flying back to Australia.

“There is a little road ahead for my dad but I believe 100% he is going to be fine and we are all going to get through it together.

“My dad is the sweetest, kindest man you will ever meet and the one thing he really wants is for me to keep going and to keep dancing my little heart out and doing what I love because that makes him the absolute proudest. Regardless if I go home with a glitterball or not I will still go home and have a hot Christmas,” Dianne continued.

Strictly Come Dancing said goodbye to its fourth celebrity this weekend after Eddie Kadi and Karen Hauer fail to secure their spot in next week’s live Halloween special show after performing in the dance off against Zara McDermott and Graziano Di Prima.
