Desperate Housewives fans will be thrilled
Desperate Housewives fans will be thrilled to hear that a spin-off series is in the works.
The series titled Wisteria Lane is currently in development at Onyx Collective, according to E! News.
The series will reportedly capture the spirit of the original and has been described as being playful, sultry, and darkly comedic soap-meets-mystery.
The series will focus on the lives of a group of neighbours with Instagram-perfect lives, but all is not what it seems. They all have secrets hidden beneath the surface, just like in the original series.
According to reports, actress Kerry Washington will be the executive producer.
The original Desperate Housewives series aired between 2004 and 2012. Series creator Marc Cherry has hinted at working on spin-offs in the past. However, the new project is set to have a brand new cast.
Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross, and Nicollette Sheridan starred in the original series.
Cherry told People:
“I would probably want to do the idea maybe in an earlier decade.”
“Because the character I miss writing the most is actually Wisteria Lane. That was the most fun playground anyone in the history of television has ever had, because we owned the whole street. I know that street like the back of my hand.”
