As ever, the BBC drama series left many viewers in floods of tears.
However, there was one story in particular that was uncomfortable to watch.
One of the main stories of episode one was about a pregnant teenage girl named Paula Cunningham.
The girl was from an extremely religious family and her parents had banned her from attending sex education classes in school.
After displaying pregnancy symptoms, Dr. Turner confirmed the teenager was pregnant, much to the shock of her parents.
Her religious mother refused to believe it was true and claimed it was an 'immaculate conception'.
She later claimed it was the work of the devil and invited people from their church into their home to 'help' her daughter but Paula's father finally intervened.
She fled to Nonnatus House and finally revealed to the midwives what happened to her.
Pamela explained that she thinks she had sex with a boy she knows but didn't understand because she didn't have sex ed.
Pamela was then sent to a mother-and-baby home for the remainder of her pregnancy.
"Difficult subject for such a young actress to portray- Kitty was amazing- she handled the role in an extremely mature manner. Definitely an actress with a promising career ahead," one wrote.
"As a mom however, this whole storyline while so important, was very hard to watch as it brought out every mama bear instinct in me as my daughter sat next to me watching," another said.
"This scene in the picture scared me. I’m so glad her father stepped in," another also shared.
Call the Midwife returns next Sunday at 8 pm on BBC1.
