It marks his third Golden Globe win

Colin Farrell had the best reaction after being awarded his third Golden Globe for his role as the titular character in HBO series The Penguin.

The 48-year-old went up to accept his award, and, as always, was the star of the show with what he had to say.

Farrell joked that he had “no one to thank” and “did it all by myself”, before going on to earnestly thank everyone who worked on the show with him.

He gave particular thanks to Mike Marino and the makeup team, who created the prosthetics for his character.

“In the morning, I drank black coffee, listened to 80s music, and I became a canvas for that team’s brilliance,” Farrell said.

He went on to joke: “I guess it’s prosthetics from here on out.”

The Dubliner also praised his fellow nominees, including fellow Irishman Andrew Scott.

“(Andrew) who I did my first film with 25, 30 years ago,” he said.

“You can’t even find it on Betamax. It doesn’t exist. But we go back that far.”

Farrell’s previous Golden Globes wins were both for his roles in Martin McDonagh films, In Bruges and The Banshees Of Inisherin.
