Fans of the beloved Sex and the City franchise are unhappy with the series finale of And Just Like That and are not shy about sharing their opinions online.
Carrie Bradshaw, played by the iconic Sarah Jessica Parker, is known for her on-and-off relationships, summer flings, and sticky 'situationships', however, the series finale sees Carrie confront a new reality: life on her own.
The Sex And The City reboot has always divided opinion, though the season finale might go down in history as the most controversial SATC episode.
While we're still enjoying the last summer rays, the series closed its run with a Thanksgiving episode.
What starts as a holiday dinner carefully planned by Miranda quickly unravels into absolute chaos.
The festivities are quickly disturbed by a string of emergencies, leaving Carrie to spend the day with an odd mix of companions: Charlotte's boss Mark Kasabian (Victor Garber), Miranda’s son Brady (Niall Cunningham), Brady's girlfriend and new mother, and two of her friends, one memorably named Epcot.
The chaos truly unfolds when Epcot overindulges on cheese, resulting in him making multiple bathroom visits in Miranda's flat, which ultimately causes the toilet to clog.
The mess in the bathroom is intensely shown on the screen, just as Mark is washing his hands.
Miranda is left to deal with the cleanup, as Carrie and the rest of the dinner guests retreat to their homes.
A montage shows Carrie and her friends enjoying pies in their own homes, with Carrie scooping the pumpkin out of the pie (no crust, of course).
The episode next shows Carrie sitting at her desk in front of her laptop as she works on the epilogue of her novel. This very familiar site used to always hint at a new romance in Carrie's future, however, this time she changes the epilogue to read: "The woman realised she was not alone – she was on her own."
The series then ends with Carrie playfully dancing down her hallway.
Despite all the criticism, some viewers do defend the show's ending, with fans pointing to Carrie's character development and the fact that they played the original SATC theme song during the credits.
So even though the series ends on a sweet, feminist note, fans just can't look past that vivid bathroom scene.
Fans took to X to share their opinions on the series finale:

"And just like that, it’s over. I couldn’t help but wonder…did I even enjoy that? And if I found myself hate-watching this Sex and the City reboot, like many other fans, why am I sad it’s over? Most importantly, what the hell was that finale?" https://t.co/WbNMNVSsuP
