Adele has cancelled two Wembley shows

If you haven't already had a chance to see Adele live, chances are you never will now...

The singer has cancelled her final two gigs in Wembley this weekend after damaging her vocal chords. On medical advice, the singer was advised to cancel the performances, and she took to social media to tell her fans the bad news. Adele jokes that she considered miming the final few shows, but promised fans that she had never done that before and wasn't about to start now. This follows closely on the news that fans of recent shows received a hand-written note from the singer in their programs explaining that these performances were mostly likely going to be her last.

“This is it after 15 months on the road and 18 months of 25 we are at the end." "Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well. I’m a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus I’m dramatic and have a terrible history of touring.” “I’ve done 119 shows and these last 4 will take me up to 123, it has been hard out an absolute thrill and pleasure to have done. I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artist have had on me live. And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home.” This recent medical situation will probably further Adele in her decision on quitting live performances going forward, but fans who had tickets for the final two shows have been told refunds will be organised if "rescheduling the performances isn't possible".
