The Princess of Wales expressed her disappointment at missing the event

Kate Middleton announced that she will not be attending the famous Royal Ascot event following her cancer treatment.

As per the Independent, the Princess of Wales shared she is continuing to find a balance since completing her cancer treatment.

Middleton expressed her disappointment at missing the famous sporting event with family.

A spokesperson said Kate is still trying to find the “right balance” when it comes to public engagements.

According to The Independent, Ascot officials announced at 12 pm today that the princess will sit in the second carriage with Prince William.

However, just less than half an hour later, they announced that the Princess of Wales is no longer attending the event.

Kate Middleton announced she finished chemotherapy in September 2024.

The mum-of-three revealed back in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer, after being out of the public eye for much of the year.

In an emotional video, the 42-year-old said it had been “incredibly tough” for her.

She also said, “that life as you know it can change in an instant”.

Middleton shared that the “stormy waters” of her diagnosis were “complex, scary, and unpredictable.”

“With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before,

“And with that, a new perspective on everything. As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.”

Kate said her cancer diagnosis has given her a new outlook on life.

She told her supporters:

“This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life,

“Which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”

Though upset to miss the event, Middleton has previously confirmed her commitment to attend more public engagements whenever she can.
