Kate Middleton says she has a “renewed sense of hope and appreciation of life”

Princess Kate says she has finished chemotherapy.

The mum-of-three revealed back in March that she had been diagnosed with cancer, after being out of the public eye for much of the year.

In an emotional video, the 42-year-old said it had been “incredibly tough” for her this year, and “that life as you know it can change in an instant”.

She said the “stormy waters” of her diagnosis were “complex, scary, and unpredictable”.

“With humility, it also brings you face to face with your own vulnerabilities in a way you have never considered before, and with that, a new perspective on everything,” she added.

“As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment,”  she said.

Kate said her cancer diagnosis has given her a new outlook on life.

She told her supporters, “This time has above all reminded William and me to reflect and be grateful for the simple yet important things in life, which so many of us often take for granted. Of simply loving and being loved.”

Kate said her current focus is to remain cancer-free.

“Doing what I can to stay cancer-free is now my focus. Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes.

Kate confirmed she will be returning to work following her treatment.

“I am undertaking a few more public engagements in the coming months when I can,” she said.
