Victoria Beckham is now and will always be a Spice Girl. Even though she has locked away her platform shoes and has absolutely no interest in joining the reunion, she will always bring back fond memories for 90’s girls.
We ignored the fact that she rarely sang and just enjoyed her presence as part of the five piece band who promoted ‘Girl Power’. All of the other four girls would take their turn as the lead on songs while Victoria maintained her role as Posh Spice.
It really didn’t matter that she didn’t sing much because she was still a vital part of the group. We kind of knew she probably didn’t have the strongest vocals but it was always assumed that she just did backing vocals.
And now, she’s just dropped a HUGE bombshell. She has revealed that her microphone used to be turned off during performances and she would be miming the whole thing.
According to The Sun, she confirmed this news while speaking at the Vogue 100 exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, saying, “They used to turn it off and just let the others sing. I got the last laugh – and now my mic is well and truly on, finally.”
She added, “I was always the one that loved fashion and it was quite a result for me because the girls always used to get their clothes for free because they were crap and so there was a lot of budget for me to have my little Gucci dress.”
