The Euphoria star confirmed the split from ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino
Sydney Sweeney has spoken out about her split from ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino.
A source revealed in April that the actress officially ended her relationship with ex-fiancé Jonathan Davino, which was set to take place in May.
The two had started dating in 2018, with their engagement announced in 2022.
Sweeney had not commented on the break-up publicly, but has now confirmed it in an interview with The Times.
The Times asked her whether she was planning a wedding, and Sweeney replied no.
They then asked the Anyone But You actress if she was single, to which she said “yes”:
“I’m learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And I’m loving it.”
It was reported that Sweeney wanted to focus on her career rather than settle down.
An insider previously explained to People that not only has she called off her wedding, but she also ended the relationship.
They explained why Sweeney decided it was time to break up with her long-term partner.
“She’s exactly where she wants to be. Most people would feel overwhelmed by her working schedule this year, but not Syd. She’s all about working right now and very excited about all her projects.”
“What did make her overwhelmed, though, was her relationship and her wedding. She didn’t feel right about it,” the insider told the publication.
Sweeney was also rumoured to have had an affair with her Anyone But You co-star, Glen Powell.
The pair were accused of having an affair when they were filming the rom-com Anyone But You in Australia, but Sydney Sweeney has shut down the claims.
In an interview with Variety, the actress said she doesn’t “really care” about the claims.
She told the publication:
“It’s hard to sit back and watch, and not be able to stand up for yourself.”
“Glen and I don’t really care. We have so much fun together, and we respect each other so much; he’s such a hard worker, and I’m a hard worker.”
Sydney Sweeney and Jonathan Davino started dating in 2018 and announced their engagement in 2022.
