It comes after Sydney Sweeney called off her wedding

Glen Powell’s mother Cyndy Powell has addressed rumours that the Hit Man actor is dating his Sydney Sweeney.

Rumours have been swirling about the pair since they starred alongside one another in romantic comedy Anyone But You.

Fans have only grown more suspect of the pair’s relationship status since it was revealed that Sydney had called off her wedding to Jonathan Davino, who she had been dating since 2018.

Following reports of “major issues” between Sydney and her fiancé, the actress was spotted hanging out with Glen at wedding celebrations for his sister.

However, in a new interview, Glen’s mum has refuted claims the pair are dating.

Talking exclusively to the Daily Mail, she said they are “definitely not together.”

“It was just, like, she was there with her friend,” Cyndy told the outlet.

She said the dating rumours were “silly,” and that the pair are just “really close friends”. She added there is “nothing going on behind closed doors.”

“He’s the kindest person and he is so others-oriented. He loves his family, he loves his friends. And Sydney is a friend,” she continued.

“They’ve been friends for so long. They’ve known each other for so long and they’ve both been single and together and with other people.

“They could have made anything happen that they wanted to at any point.

“But he’s got so many friends that care about him and he cares about, and he’s got a really nice group of friends that they kind of take care of each other. It’s really nice.”

When asked about if the pair could date in the future, she said: “That is none of my business. I just want what’s best for everybody.

“I just want somebody that loves him unconditionally and he loves unconditionally, and they take care of each other and live happily ever after.”

She added that she believes he is “too busy right now” for a relationship.

“But he’s a family man. He wants a family and he wants his happily ever after. It’s just not right now.”
