Soul Singer Bobby Womack Dies, Aged 70

He passed away on Friday.

Soul singer Bobby Womack has died at the age of 70.

His publicist has confirmed the news that he passed away in his sleep on Friday. The cause of death however is not yet known.

Womack had an impressive career spanning seven decades. As well as working with the likes of Aretha Franklin and Ray Charles, he had a range of solo hits including If You Think You’re Lonely Now.

The music star had suffered with a number of health issues in recent years including diabetes, colon cancer, and pneumonia.
