Ronnie O’Sullivan and his son escaped serious injury when the snooker player’s sports car spun out of control in the early hours of this morning.
The 38-year-old star was travelling back home with six-year-old Ronnie Junior after the World Snooker Championship final at the Crucible in Sheffield, during which he lost to Mark Selby, when the crash happened.
According to reports, the car hit a patch of standing water and collided with the central reservation on the M1. An insider apparently told the Daily Mirror that conditions were poor but said that speed was not a factor.
Ronnie and Ronnie Junior, who was sitting in the passenger seat at the time, were left shaken but did not suffer any serious injuries.
On Monday Ronnie lost to Mark Selby in the final of this year’s World Snooker Championship.
