People are praising Aoife Dowling for being so honest
Aoife Dowling has been praised for being so honest about her post-partum body in a new Instagram post.
The sister of Brian Dowling was a surrogate for both of his daughters but recently opened up about how she’s feeling following Blu’s birth.
Aoife delivered Blu, who is Brian and Arthur’s second child, in June.
She and Brian recently jetted off to New York together and Aoife shared a beautiful swimsuit photo to mark the start of their trip.
She said it’s her first time wearing a swimsuit this year.
“My first time wearing a swimsuit this year & it’s September,” she wrote.
Aoife said women are put under far too much pressure when it comes to losing weight, especially after pregnancy.
“Us women can put so much pressure on ourselves when it comes to things like this.
“After 2 pregnancies my body will never be the same again & I’m so ok with that.
“What we are able to do is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE!!! So cheers to all of us,” she continued.
Aoife praised for sharing real post-partum photo
Aoife’s followers praised the 35-year-old for being so incredibly honest about her body and the pressures women are facing.
One wrote: “You are one amazing lady and sister and role model for so many enjoy.”
“You look amazing you should be so proud of what you’ve done for brother& his husband,” another wrote.
“You are stunning. You’ve brought two beautiful babies into this world. Hold that head up high and be proud of yourself for many reasons,” another said.
Seeing Aoife embrace her body in such a positive and empowering way is refreshing for those of us who are overwhelmed with messages about ‘bouncing back’ after giving birth.
Society’s obsession with shedding the baby weight is hugely concerning, but posts like these are helping break that expectation down.
And it’s a relief to see.
