The charming Made In Chelsea star's loveable personality has made him favourite to win the show.

However, it hasn't been smooth sailing from day one in the jungle.

Sam and his fellow campmates have clashed on multiple occasions, but viewers always sided with the reality star.

Most recently, First Dates star Fred Siriex mocked the 31-year-old during a camp discussion.

Sam offered to take part in a trial, but Fred quickly shut him down and insisted that he would do it.

He then told Sam to stay at the camp and 'play with his toys'.

In another incident, the campmates were arguing about dinner and kept telling Sam to 'calm down'.

Viewers were furious by the remarks and said they needed to be more understanding.

Sam's girlfriend Zara McDermott is now responding to the incident and said he would've found that situation quite difficult.

Zara told This Morning, "Seeing him open up about his ADHD has made everyone, especially all of his family and me, just so proud.

"But I do think in that situation, it's important sometimes to bring him back down to earth a little bit, but in the right way. I think all those voices would have overwhelmed him quite a lot."

Despite the heated moments, Zara said she's beyond proud of all Sam has achieved on the show.

She told her followers that she couldn't be more proud of her boyfriend.

"I couldn’t be prouder of this one… I cannot believe it's already been three weeks! You are teaching us all to be a little more “Sam”, to take life a little less seriously, to laugh at ourselves a little more, and to never care what anyone else thinks.

"Never dull your sparkle for anyone my darling. Everyone loves you so much," Zara added.
