Pretty Little Liars actress Nia Peeples has filed for divorce from her husband of seven years, pro surfer and film-maker Sam George.
The actress, who shot to fame on the TV series of Fame and plays Emily Fields’ mum in the hit ABC show, submitted papers in Los Angeles County Courthouse on August 11th citing irreconcilable differences.
The papers were filed just three weeks short of the couple’s eighth wedding anniversary.
According to People Magazine, the actress is seeking to keep the couple’s home in Malibu, California, roughly valued at $875,000.
The pair, who married in August 2007, have no children together. Peeples has a son and daughter from previous relationships.
The actress spoke out about her impending divorce on Twitter, thanking fans for their support and rubbishing rumours that she is looking to obtain all the couple’s properties:
The part about divorce is true. The part about demanding the trailer is not. All is amicable. There is no demanding @Cristy_1971

I so appreciate that. But this time is not born of running away from but rather toward expansion. #happy @KatelynHoyt

No need 4sorrow. Nothing is permanent. Everything is in a state of growth or decline. We are growing. And so we are happy @My_Solo_Life
