Rihanna has hit out at US basketball player Matt Barnes, who claimed he is in the initial stages of a relationship with the singer.
In a video clip shared by TMZ over the weekend, the 35-year old claimed he was in the ‘crush stage’ with Rihanna, saying:
“Rihanna is my friend right now, so we’ll see where it goes. It just passed the crush stage a little bit.”
It seems Rihanna didn’t take too kindly to the leaked tape, deciding to set the record straight on her supposed relationship.
Posting a screengrab of the TMZ video, the 27-year old responded to the rumours with a series of hashtags:

Matt was formerly married to reality TV star Gloria Govan, and the pair have two children together.
The news comes as Rihanna has reportedly been spending more time with F1 star Lewis Hamilton.
The Sun reports that the pair have been close for some time, but that things have heated up recently.
A source apparently told the paper: “They’ve had a flirtation for years and have always fancied each other, but since May this year they’ve been talking a lot.
“Finally their schedules allowed them to spend a weekend in the same part of the world and they made the most of it.”
