We have our fingers crossed for next year!
Olivia Atwood has confirmed that she will not be joining the 2023 line-up for ‘I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!’.
The ‘Love Island’ alum made a brief appearance on the 2022 series of the survival reality show but her time in the jungle was cut short after a routine blood test
It was rumoured and hoped that she would make a return this year as many viewers were disappointed about her early departure last year.
However, ‘The Only Way Is Essex’ star has now set the record straight and confirmed she will not be going down under for the upcoming series.
Addressing the speculation around her ‘I’m A Celeb’ comeback, Olivia took to her Instagram stories to put the rumours to bed.
“I wasn’t going to talk about anything jungle related because if I’m honest, the way things played out last year still makes my heart hurt… and brain.
“I have been avoiding Instagram, but the sheer volume of you messaging about the show, commenting and meeting you in person etc I feel like it’s wrong not to speak to you guys. I couldn’t commit to going back this year. It wasn’t the right time for me.
“There were many things that I had to weigh up, but ultimately the sheer intensity of my schedule doesn’t allow for that much time ‘out of the office’…
“I read all your messages about the show, your support and love I will never ever take for granted.”
Olivia, however, did not rule out a future return to the Austrailian jungle.
“One day I hope when the time is right. We can finish my jungle story for you guys and for myself… Now seems like a good time to let my hair down for a few days. I am bursting screaming crying at the seams to share with you the tele things I have coming.”
At the time of her early exit from the show last year, the social media personality revealed to the Mail On Sunday that that blood tests revealed she had low sodium and potassium levels, while also indicating anaemia, and she was taken to hospital.
She added that after additional blood work came back as normal, it wad decided for her that she would not return to the jungle, with ITV stating that it was a medical decision.
