Australian authorities have reportedly charged a 29-year-old man with indecently assaulting Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald, the 23-year-old star was attending a function for the cast at The Sebel Pier One on Thursday night when she stopped to greet fans outside the venue.
A fan asked for a photograph, which she agreed to, but then allegedly grabbed her breast. Hyland immediately pushed the man away and called for security. Police were called to the scene where they are said to have arrested the man in question.
The man has reportedly been charged with assault with an act of indecency and will appear at Downing Centre Local Court next month.
Meanwhile Hyland, who is in Sydney with the rest of the Modern Family cast to shoot a holiday special, returned to work today.
Last night she took to Twitter to apologise to fans for leaving last night’s event early. She wrote: “Sorry to all the fans outside the #qantas event that I didn’t get to say hi to but I had to leave due an inappropriate touch of a fan.”
