Lady Rose Hanbury has denied having an affair with Prince William

Kate has been keeping a low profile ever since she underwent planned abdominal surgery in mid-January. Her spokesperson confirmed she would not return to royal duties until Easter, but her absence has caused major speculation online.

Kate’s absence has caused social media users to start speculating about her marriage to Prince William, meaning rumours about his alleged affair with Lady Rose Hanbury resurfaced yet again.

The rumours have been circulating since 2019, but reemerged this month.

The alleged affair happened during Kate’s third pregnancy, but those involved have never addressed the claims. Kate reportedly urged William to distance himself from Rose, according to US Weekly.

Lady Rose Hanbury’s name has been featured everywhere from TikTok videos to newspaper headlines, and even during  Stephen Colbert’s opening monologue.

The talk show host said: “The kingdom has been all a flutter by the seeming disappearance of Kate Middleton. Well now, internet sleuths are guessing that Kate’s absence may be related to her husband and the future King of England William having an affair.

“So, I think we all know who the alleged other woman is. Say it with me –– the Marchioness of Cholmondeley –– what a beautiful name!”

Lady Rose issued a brief statement over the weekend and shut down the rumours

Her lawyers told Business Insider that “the rumours are completely false".

Prince William has not addressed the claims, but was spotted with Kate Middleton at a local farm shop this weekend.
