Kelly Brook says being childfree is her own choice
Model Kelly Brook has opened up about her decision to be childless in a moving new interview.
The 45-year-old recently discussed her decision not to have children and admitted she’s happier for it.
She explained to The Sun, “We haven’t tried for children, we haven’t gone down the IVF route. We’ve not even looked into it and I think we are all the more happier for it to be honest.”
“I am actually childless by choice at the moment, it’s not something that we have considered.
“I don’t think that should be a taboo,” she said.
Kelly said her life is still fulfilled even though she doesn’t have children.
She said she felt like it was always expected of her to have children, but she now thinks having a family isn’t something she was ever certain of.
She added: “I’m surrounded by a lot of families with kids and I see it brings people a lot of happiness.
“But I also see it brings people a lot of stress.”
Kelly suffered miscarriages and has dealt with fertility struggles in the past and said it can have a devastating impact on your relationship.
“I know how traumatic and devastating they are on you and on your relationship, I have been down that road with previous partners and it is a lot.
She continued: “I look at the beautiful life we have and how we don’t have the burden of that.”
Kelly has been praised for being so honest about her decision to be childfree.
Many women said it’s refreshing to see a woman talk about it in such an open and honest way.
