Anne Hathaway has landed the lead role in Verity
Anne Hathaway is set to star in the film adaptation of Colleen Hoover’s book Verity.
The writer’s novel is hitting the big screen and The Princess Diaries star has landed the lead role.
According to Deadline, Hathaway is teaming up with director Michael Showalter for the project. The pair worked on The Idea Of You together so our hopes are incredibly high for the film version of Verity.
The script will be written by Nick Antosca, who will also produce the film.
There has been a mixed reaction to Hathaway’s role in the movie, but we’re feeling optimistic about it.

What is Verity about?
The book follows the life of the writer Lowan Ashleigh, who is a struggling writer on the brink of financial ruin.
Her life changes when she decides to accept the job offer of a lifetime. Jeremy Crawford, husband of bestselling author Verity Crawford, has hired Lowen to complete the remaining books in a successful series his injured wife is unable to finish.
Lowen arrives at the Crawford home, ready to sort through years of Verity’s notes and outlines, hoping to find enough material to get her started. What Lowen doesn’t expect to uncover in the chaotic office is an unfinished autobiography Verity never intended for anyone to read.
Lowan slowly starts to develop feelings for Verity’s husband but knows the manuscript has the power to ruin his marriage.
A release date for Verity has not yet been confirmed.
