Justin Bieber has been ordered to pay $80,900 (just under €60,000) in damages after his neighbour’s house was pelted with eggs.

The pop star, who pleaded no contest to misdemeanour vandalism, was reportedly sentenced to two years’ probation.

As part of the deal, he will have to do five days of community service and undergo 12 weekly anger management sessions. He also has to stay away from the victim and his family for two years.

Back in January, Bieber’s then-neighbour called the police to report that eggs were being thrown over a fence from the singer’s home in California.

Surveillance footage showed the 20-year-old, who did not have to appear in court but was represented by his lawyer, celebrating with friends after the egging.

According to Sky News, his representatives released a statement following the decision. It said: “Justin is glad to get this matter resolved and behind him. He will continue to move forward focusing on his career and music”.

Bieber, who has had numerous run-ins with the authorities over the last year, has since moved from the gated community in which the incident took place.
