Julia Roberts thinks she knows where her Pretty Woman character would be today
The actress was promoting her latest project, Leave the World Behind when she stopped by CBS Mornings for a chat and a spot of reflection.
Gayle King asked her what she thinks happened to Vivian Ward and her answer may surprise you as much as it did us.
“I think he passed away peacefully in his sleep from a heart attack, smiling,” the 56-year-old said of Richard Gere’s character Edward, “And now she runs his business.”

Though a bit dark, we have to admit the idea of Vivian becoming a powerful businesswoman is pretty cool.
Yet it wasn’t just her Pretty Woman character that Julia decided to give a new ending to, she looked back on some of her most iconic roles and where they could be now.
She then moved on to Notting Hill’s Anna and William (Hugh Grant), who were last seen married and expecting.
“She’s retired. She has six children and has maintained her waist size, amazingly. He runs the bookshop still,” she explained.
“And now there’s a little knitting annex to the bookshop that she runs.”

And last, but certainly not least, she weighed in on The Pelican Brief’s Darby, who found love with Denzel Washington’s Gray.
“To me, the end of the movie, they’re absolutely together,” she said of the flick, which lets viewers decide the ending. “I think he’s in love with her. She’s in love with him.”
It’s good to know Julia believes most of her characters have a happy ending.
