Jack Lowden opens up on marriage to Saoirse Ronan

Saoirse Ronan married the Scottish actor last month

Lowden often avoids discussing his relationship but he recently told The Guardian about dating the Brooklyn star.

He explained that being with a fellow actor has been a relief for him because Ronan understands his work completely.

"Being with an actor is wonderful because we understand each other. We're quite odd people, actors.

"We're strange animals," he admitted.

"It just makes complete sense, and I understand why there are loads of other actors with actors… And it's really useful for running lines, rather than with, like, your mum," he said.

The Slow Horses actor said working with Ronan on The Outrun was an incredible experience.

He told the publication, "I read The Outrun in lockdown and just turned to Sersh and said: ‘You’ve got to play this part.’ We were both producers, as well as Sersh being in it. It was the most amazing experience – in particular, to watch her in that role."

He described the Little Women actress as "utterly phenomenal" during the interview.

Lowden married the Irish actress in a private ceremony in Edinburgh in July.

The couple were joined by a handful of their closest friends for the intimate ceremony in Lowden's native Scotland.

Jack Lowden started dating Saoirse Ronan after working together on Mary Queen of Scots in 2018.
