Boy band star Lee Ryan has revealed that he is heading to rehab following his arrest over the weekend.
The singer reportedly told the Daily Star: “I know I’ve let people down. Being arrested and ending up in a cell was the biggest wake-up call to me. It made me realise there is a problem I can’t keep ignoring. I need to do something about it.”
He added: “Me going to rehab isn’t a cop-out. I still take full responsibility for the way I’ve behaved. There is nobody to blame but myself and I’m deeply ashamed of what has happened. I am doing this because I have finally admitted I need help. I want to stop hurting the people around me.”
According to various media outlets, Lee was taken to a police station in London by the authorities in the early hours of Friday morning on suspicion of drink-driving.
He was charged with failing to provide a specimen and criminal damage before later being arrested on suspicion of possessing a Class A drug.
Lee, who is best known for being in Blue and also appeared on the most recent series of Celebrity Big Brother, is said to have been released on bail and is due to appear in court on May 2nd to face sentencing.
