Irish Athlete Derval O’Rourke Welcomes First Baby

Irish athlete Derval O’Rourke has welcomed her first baby with husband Peter O’Leary. The former champion hurdler took to Twitter to announce the news on Sunday.

Hugely grateful to all the amazing staff in CUMH. Delighted to welcome baby Dafne O'Leary to the world a few days ago.

The 33-year-old, who retired from international athletics last year, had previously revealed that she was expecting with a special tweet on Mother’s Day earlier this year.

The couple tied the knot in 2013 after meeting on the return flight from the 2008 Beijing Olympics where they both competed for Ireland.
