He’s our Man of the Day today, but actor Donnie Wahlberg is much more than a man of the moment for Jenny Mc Carthy.
Mc Carthy shared some happy news on The View today, proudly flashing a very impressive rock and wiping away some tears as she told her co-hosts and show viewers that she is set to wed the Blue Bloods star.
The 41-year-old presenter became emotional as she told how New Kids on the Block member Donnie included her 11-year-old son, Evan, in the proposal.
She said: “This weekend I was sitting with Donnie and he went into the other room and out came Evan with a card that said ‘Will’ and he handed it to me.
“Then Evan ran away and Evan came in with a card that said ‘You.’ … I just started crying and then Evan came back into the room with the word ‘Marry’ — but spelled wrong.
“The last time, Donnie came out with Evan and Donnie’s shirt said ‘Me’ … and he got down on his knee.”
“Of course, I said ‘Yes,’ she added. “In that moment Evan yelled, ‘I have another dad!’ and it made all of us cry.”
Wahlberg was in the studio for this morning’s announcement, and Jenny’s co-host Whoopie Goldberg spilled the beans on his emotional state too, saying: “He was over there drying his tears”.

The pair have been dating since last summer. Both have ben married once before.
