Mending a broken heart is never easy, but for some it really is a time for reflection.
While some of us might eat our way through tubs of Ben & Jerrys while crying to our best friends, for others it’s a time to stay the strong, silent type… well at least if you’re Emma Watson.
In an interview accompanying her cover for British Vogue, the English actress revealed she took a vow of silence when trying to get over her recent break-up from boyfriend Matthew Janney.
The pair are believed to have split late last year, and the 25-year old decided to pack her bags for a one week retreat in silence to cope with her loss.
Speaking in the magazine interview, Emma explained how she:
“went on a silent retreat because I really wanted to figure out how to be at home with myself.”
The retreat was hosted at a private retreat in the Canadian Rockies.
Emma added that although she’s had heartache, she hasn’t regretted her past dating decisions:
“They’ve built me up. I certainly haven’t found that with doing all that I do or being all that I am, that I’ve struggled in my love life.”
