Daniel Radcliffe has admitted how scared he was to become a dad.
In a refreshingly honest interview, the Harry Potter star didn’t speak about the “magic” of parenting that we’re so used to hearing about and instead opened up about his fears.
Speaking to E! News, Daniel Radcliffe said: “It’s frankly terrifying to have a human being in the world that I care this much about and that everything he does is going to affect how I feel about my life for the rest of my life. So, you know, that’s intimidating.”
The actor and his other half The Marvelous Mrs Maisel star, Erin Darke, welcomed their first child to the world, a baby boy, back in April of this year.
Despite admitting that life as a family of three has taken a lot of getting used to, it’s clear that Daniel is a doting dad as he gushed about his son.
“The fact that there is a creature in the world that can give you the worst night of your life and then you wake up in the morning and go over to them and they turn around and smile and you’re like, I don’t care about any of the things you just did. That’s pretty cool,” he explained fondly.
Though the 36-year-old actor is usually a private guy, he seems to love to talk about his latest addition and confessed in a previous interview that going back to work was going to be hard.
“‘It hasn’t really yet affected things, but I really like spending time with him, and I think I’m gonna miss him when I go back to work later in the year,” he told Entertainment Tonight.
“So, I will definitely be a bit more selective… I’ve always been selective, but I think I’ll probably work a little bit less for the next few years. I’ll never be stopping. I don’t think that’s good for me either.”
