Coronation Street star Chris Fountain has been suspended from the popular soap after being revealed as the person behind a violent rap song.
The 25-year-old actor, who plays Tommy Duckworth, posted a video on YouTube under his alter-ego The Phantom. It was viewed by thousands of people before it was removed.

His lyrics referred to stabbing people with “diseased needles”, using a “machete” on rivals and raping women.
Following the revelation ITV, who deemed the language as “totally unacceptable”, suspended the soap star pending further enquiries.
With his co-star and onscreen girlfriend Michelle Keegan.
Fountain also issued an apology. He said: “I would like to sincerely apologise for any offence I have caused.
“I am deeply ashamed by the lyrics and very much regret my behaviour. The videos were made over a year ago when I was experimenting with music and I’ve not done anything like it since. Nor will I.”
