Confirmed: Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth Call off Engagement

Miley Cyrus and actor Liam Hemsworth have ended their engagement, their representatives have confirmed.

Cyrus and Hemsworth were together for four years.

Over the past few days Cyrus stopped following Hemsworth on Twitter, which led to various reports that they had parted ways.

The pair first met on the set of The Last Song (2010) where they played two lovers and got engaged in 2012.

At the time, the singer told People Magazine, "I'm so happy to be engaged and look forward to a life of happiness with Liam."

For the past while the couple had seemed to be living separate lives that has seen more break-ups than moments together, with Cyrus dedicating time to her new album and Hemsworth promoting Catching Fire.

Reps for both stars had no further comment.
