Brendan O’Carroll is standing in as host on The Marian Finucane Show this weekend but while we expected a few laughs, we didn’t predict this kind gesture.
The Mrs Brown’s Boys star showed just what a decent man he is on RTÉ Radio 1 this morning when he agreed to give one of the callers €30,000.
A man called Eddie phoned into the show and explained that he is in financial difficulty. He also said that he wants to start up his own business so that he can turn things around.
Brendan, who is promoting Mrs Brown’s Boys D’Movie at the moment, told the caller that he would give him the money.
He said: “You know what Eddie, I’m very, very lucky. I had a movie open this week which is going to make me a fortune. I will put €30,000 on front of you and see if that idea works.
“And if we can make this idea work, you being 61 and me being 50-ish, we show exactly what two old men can do”.
Ever the comedian, Brendan joked: “But if it does work Eddie, you’re not to dip into and start going and playing golf”.
