Actress Elizabeth Pena has passed away at the age of 55.
The star’s manager, Gina Rugolo, confirmed that she died of natural causes in Los Angeles on Tuesday night, following a brief illness.
Pena had an impressive career spanning 35 years. You may recognise her from her roles in Modern Family (she played Sofia Vergara’s onscreen mum), Matador and Rush Hour.
She is survived by her husband and her two teenage children (a daughter and a son) as well as her mother and her sister.
Elizabeth Pena appeared in a number of Modern Family episodes.
