Brittany Daniel, who is best known for starring alongside her twin sister Cynthia in 90s show Sweet Valley High, has opened up about her cancer battle.
The actress told People magazine that she found out she had stage IV non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma after going to the doctor with back pain and flu symptoms.
“It happened so suddenly,” she explained. “There is no way I would have ever gotten through this without my family. My family is everything to me and I feel like they saw me through this.”
Brittany, who also appeared in White Chicks and The Game, started chemotherapy right away and moved in with her sister who she said was her inspiration.
“I really wasn’t afraid of dying,” the 38-year-old admitted. “But I fought so hard because I could not leave her behind.”
She added: “I want to let people know it is absolutely possible to get through something like this. I want people to know they are not alone.”
Brittany and Cynthia rose to fame in Sweet Valley High.
