SSE Airtricity has been the proud sponsor of the division for the past three years, and throughout this period, Irish women’s football has gone from strength to strength. For instance, Shamrock Rovers’ Áine O’Gorman and Peamount United’s former captain Louise Quinn were among the many incredible women making up the Irish squad for the Women’s World Cup, the biggest event in women’s football.

As the dust settles on the Irish journey down under, we’re turning our attention to the league that champions women’s football right here, the league that can take our players to new heights. So, now that the SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division has restarted, we’ve put together everything you need to know to get behind this incredible league.

The Table

As it stands, Peamount United FC are currently at the top of the table with 34 points, and with Shelbourne FC, Shamrock Rovers FC and Bohemian FC following closely behind, it’s all to play for. You can check out the full table right here.

Who to watch?

The SSE Airtricity Women’s Premier Division is bursting at the seams with talent, and there are scores of players to watch.

Some highlights from the season so far include Bohemian’s Mia Dodd, whose decisive goal secured her team’s victory over Athlone Town on the 20th of May. Dodd’s goal – the game’s fifth – came in the very last seconds of the game, and it won her team three points for Bohs.
