This type of wedding venue is becoming increasingly popular
Picking the perfect venue can be one of the hardest decisions of the entire wedding process.
Although sleek city hotels and historic manors are still popular among couples, there is one type of venue they are saying ‘I do’ to now more than ever – rustic and nature-inspired settings.
Google searches for “rustic barn venues near me” have surged by 170% in the past five years.
Additionally, searches for “outdoor wedding venues near me” have risen by 160% and “rustic wedding venues near me” by 100% in the same period, further illustrating couples’ desire for intimate back-to-nature experiences.
Ed Maughan, CEO of GroupAccommodation.com shares that his company has seen a 63% increase in traffic to its wedding pages in the past three months compared to the same period in 2023, and that demand for smaller rustic venues has been significant.
It’s no surprise to see such beautiful and unique wedding venues become more popular as more and more couples turn their back on tradition.
But what makes rustic wedding venues so special?
Maughan explained, “More couples choosing these rural, rustic, and intimate venues shows that they increasingly favour intimate, down-to-earth settings over traditional ones.
“It’s a trend that has been spurred by the pandemic-driven reconnection with nature, and a growing environmental awareness too, with more people across the UK being mindful of sustainability and making more eco-conscious choices.”
“The rustic wedding trend not only offers a more intimate and special experience for couples but also supports small businesses and venue owners in rural areas.
“This benefits local wedding planners, catering companies, and artisans too, creating a positive ripple effect in smaller UK communities, which is amazing.”
This is one wedding trend that is bound to become even more popular in 2025.
