Penneys new Pride collection drops this month – and we want it all

The Feeling Proud collection has us sorted for the season.

With Pride month upon us, many folks are keen to celebrate diversity and champion LGBT+ rights in style.

While most Pride events are taking place online due to Covid-19 restrictions, it’s up to us to celebrate safely, and look good while we’re at it.

To that end, Penneys have launched their Feeling Proud collection to celebrate the month of June. The line features 36 pieces of clothes and accessories that the whole family can enjoy.

The range starts from just €3 and includes a fully sequined harlequin print rainbow slip dress, kimono and hot pants and a disco ball jacket. There’s even a range of pet accessories.

As well as having us ready for June, Primark also plan on making a sizable donation to advance LGBT+ organisations.

For the third year running, the Irish retailer has partnered  with the International Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex Association (ILGA World). Through this partnership, Primark will donate €170,000 to the cause.

The donation will be used to help end discriminatory legislation and advance LGBT+ rights around the world.

Steve Lawton, Primark’s group product director welcomed the partnership.

“The product and the partnership are a true representation of our commitment to inclusivity and equality,” he said. “In true Primark style, there’s something for everyone, and we’re looking forward to seeing our customers wear these pieces not only at times of celebration but incorporating them proudly into their everyday look.”

Similarly, André du Plessis, the executive director at ILGA World stressed the importance of supporting LGBT+ organisations throughout Pride. He added that in many countries, LGBT+ people face persecution simply for existing.

He thanked Primark for their support saying, “Change is unstoppable when we’re united!”

Primark’s Feeling Proud collection is available in Penneys around the country throughout the month of June.
