Oscar De La Renta is reportedly going to have a street in New York City named after him.
According to reports, New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio announced the news about the legendary designer at Made Fashion Week in Manhattan.
The late designer passed away at the age of 82 in October of last year and the Mayor stated that De La Renta had been a “giant of the industry”.
“He will forever be ingrained in the fabric of the city,” he added.
He later also announced that the government will be tripling its $5 million commitment to the Made in New York fund which benefits the city’s fashion industry.
