A young mother has died and a child is in serious condition following a crash

A young mother has died and a child is seriously injured in hospital following a crash yesterday on the Nobber to Kingscourt road in Co Meath. 

Gardaí have confirmed that the woman, believed to be in her twenties, lost her fight for life this morning at the Intensive Care Unit of Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

According to the Meath Chronicle, the vehicle carrying two children, aged seven and two-and-a-half, and their mother was involved in a collision with an articulated truck at around 2pm on Thursday.

The older child who was injured in the accident is said to be in a serious condition and is being cared for at Our Lady’s Children’s Hospital in Dublin. The younger child was taken to Temple Street Hospital.
