The young girl injured in the Parnell Square stabbing is communicating through a computer, her family has confirmed.
Her family shared another update on GoFundMe this week.
Writing on the fundraiser page, her family said they're really impressed by how much she has improved recently.
They stated, "We have had family over from far away and they were so impressed with how much she has improved.
"She has been more in control of her neck movements. She can lift her head more and more without assistance," they shared.
The young girl can also move her arms up purposefully and can also grasp objects with full intent.
Her family added, "She can move her arms up purposefully, and grasping objects with full intent. She is working on her ability to communicate through a computer programme, and is getting faster at it."
They praised their little girl for being so strong despite everything she has been through in recent months.
Her recovery has been a long and harrowing process, but they said she is still smiling.
"She is so loving. She can be having a rough day, but will still smile when people walk into the room.
They added, "She loves pretending to hide. She gets a good laugh out of it."
"Almost a year in. Time has flown, and we have come so far. We still have so much to accomplish," they said.
The young girl is one of three children who were harmed in the Parnell Square stabbing on November 23rd, 2023.
Creche worker Leanne Flynn Keogh was also injured in the attack.
A man was arrested following the harrowing stabbing and has been charged with the attempted murder of the three children.
He was also charged with causing serious harm to the creche worker.
He remains in custody awaiting trial.
