A woman has suffered serious injuries after an acid attack in Dublin

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following an acid attack on a young woman in Co Dublin.

Gardaí at Blackrock Garda Station, in south County Dublin, are investigating an attack which took place on Friday night. They’ve said that a young woman was attacked shortly after 10pm on December 1st, somewhere between Merrion Woods and the Seamount Apartments in Blackrock.

During the attack it is believed a caustic substance was used, resulting in injuries to her face and hands.

Gardaí are appealing to walkers, taxi drivers, delivery drivers or anyone who was in the vicinity of Rosemount Terrace, Fosterbrook, Merrion Woods and Seamount Apartments between 9:30pm and 10:30pm on Friday, December 1st, who may have observed anything suspicious or may have information. They’ve also relevant dash camera footage.

Gardaí are particularly interested in locating a man who was in the area at the time. He is described as being heavy set and was wearing dark clothing.
